In her new project Cosis, Anna Andrzhievskaia transforms the Tangent Projects to mimic its neighbour, Condis. The supermarket ruins strip away any sense of sanctity or the feel of a pristine "cabinet of curiosities," turning the space instead into a liminal repository of mundane, unremarkable objects. The ironic title Cosis alludes to this, playing on the Spanish word “cosas”—“little things" or “knick-knacks” and at the same time Catalan “cos” - “body”. Or perhaps it hints at hyper-consumption—where the act of visiting a retail environment becomes the primary narrative, and actually buying something is merely an afterthought. Bogdana Skorik
