This short poem, part of Gregory Orr's larger poetry collection Concerning the Book That Is the Body of the Beloved, very concisely reveals that even in the most difficult times there is a basic human need to seek enjoyment and create enjoyment - for ourselves and for others.
We believe collaboration and seeking joy through connectivity are not only legitimate forms of active protest and resistance but also provide much-needed respite, comfort and alleviation for people struggling with violent oppressive systems. In these times, we acknowledge joy as a form of activism and embrace joy as a means of survival.
With this in mind, Tangent Projects would like to invite you to join us at Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica to share with us a day of joyous collaboration.
Included in this day of community and collaboration are 3 projects open to public participation:
Embroidery Circle - Lucía Retamar will bring "picnic" blankets to be embroidered by those who want to participate, 11 - 8pm.
Process Sharing - Maira Das Neves invites artists to bring something to share about their artistic practice, 12 - 14h.
Reading Room - Tsering Frykman-Glen is offering a space for all to come and listen to readings throughout the day, first reading at 11:30am and the final reading at 19h. With Charlotte Nordgren Sewell, Mango & Okra (Agnes Essonti Luque, Roshni Kavate & Lizette Nin), Gabriel Virgilio Luciani, and Agenda Kuir (Felipe Román Osorio).

Este breve poema, que forma parte de la colección de poesía más amplia de Gregory Orr, Concerning the Book That Is the Body of the Beloved, revela de forma muy concisa, que incluso en los tiempos más difíciles existe una necesidad humana básica de buscar y crear disfrute, para nosotros mismos y para los demás.
Creemos que la colaboración y la búsqueda de la alegría a través de la conectividad no sólo son formas legítimas de protesta y resistencia activas, sino que también proporcionan un respiro, un consuelo y un alivio muy necesarios para las personas que luchan contra sistemas opresivos violentos. En estos tiempos, reconocemos la alegría como una forma de activismo y abrazamos la alegría como medio de supervivencia.
Con esto en mente, Tangent Projects quiere invitarte a unirte a nosotros en el Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica para compartir con nosotros un día de alegre colaboración.
En este día de comunidad y colaboración hay 3 proyectos abiertos a la participación del público:
Círculo de Bordado - Lucía Retamar traerá mantas de "picnic" para ser bordadas por quienes quieran participar, 11 - 8pm.
Process Sharing - Maira Das Neves invita a los artistas a traer algo para compartir sobre su práctica artística, 12 - 14h.
Reading Room - Tsering Frykman-Glen ofrece un espacio para que todos puedan venir a escuchar lecturas a lo largo del día, la primera lectura es a las 11:30h y la última a las 19h. Con Charlotte Nordgren Sewell, Mango & Okra (Agnes Essonti Luque, Roshni Kavate & Lizette Nin), Gabriel Virgilio Luciani, y Agenda Kuir (Felipe Román Osorio).
