Tangent Projects Mission Statement
Tangent Projects is an independent non-profit art space situated in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. We house a non-commercial art gallery and provide seven affordable artist studios.
Our goal is to support artists in exploring unconventional paths within their artistic practice, encouraging experimentation and creative exploration. We believe in encouraging artists to "go off on a tangent."
Tangent Projects is dedicated to challenging inequality within the arts. We actively seek to give visibility to under-represented artists. Our mission is to showcase exemplary works, by artists from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, across various media and platforms, including publications, exhibitions, residencies, performances, and online commissions.
In essence, our mission is to create an inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates innovation and nurtures a supportive community of creative expression. Tangent Projects invites artists to push the boundaries of their practice, all while advocating strongly for diversity and inclusivity in the art world.
