Cotangent Invited Residency 2026 - Guillermo Mena

Guillermo Mena was born in Los Cóndores, Córdoba, Argentina. He graduated in Visual Arts from the Escuela de Bellas Artes Libero Pierini in Río Cuarto (2011) and has a degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Siglo 21 in Córdoba (2008).
He has exhibited in galleries and museums both in Argentina and abroad, with notable venues including the MAR Museum in Mar del Plata, the Museo Caraffa in Córdoba, the Museo de Bellas Artes Genaro Pérez, the Gachi Prieto gallery in Buenos Aires, the Museo René Bruseau in Chaco, and Wellesley College in Massachusetts, USA, where he held a solo exhibition in 2021.
During his career Guillermo has received the Fondo Nacional de las Artes grant on four occasions and has undertaken international residencies at the Banff Centre (Canada), Solanas (Punta del Este, Uruguay), as well as Epecuén and Proyecto ACE (Argentina), in addition to residencies in Iceland, Italy, Spain and Ireland.
He has also worked on international film projects as an animator and animation director, most notably on the series 4 Feet High (Sundance Film Festival 2021, La Biennale di Venezia, and Jury and Audience Award at the SXSW Festival).
Guillermo was recently selected to participate in the prestigious Studios at MassMoCA artist residency in North Adams, United States, in February 2027.
He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
