Youssef Taki is an artist and researcher, graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and has obtained a Master's degree in Research in Artistic and Visual Practices from the same university. His artistic activity is closely linked to his research activities, addressing various thematic approaches aimed at expanding the understanding of migratory processes, colonial and postcolonial events. He studies the impact of these structures on the present and how they surround our daily lives in different ways.

His most recent works focus on the interpretation, representation, and self-representation of cultural bodies with borders. These issues have been presented through lectures, exhibitions, workshops, and publications at various institutions such as the Juan March Foundation, Reina Sofía National Art Center, and Serrería Belga Cultural Space. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to bring these activities to multiple cities, including Córdoba, Seville, Murcia, Madrid, Tenerife, Albacete, Talavera de la Reina, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Pamplona, and Mallorca.

One notable work and exhibition titled Out of Place (2022), carried out in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha, UCLM Culture, and the Gil de Albornoz Foundation, stands out. This exhibition has achieved a significant impact by attracting a wide audience, especially among migrant and racialized populations.

In recent years, he has had the opportunity to expand his work internationally, participating in exhibitions such as Postcard from the Edge (2024) in New York, alongside prominent artists focusing on racial issues like Kara Walker. He has collectively exhibited with artists from North Africa and the Middle East, in Oyoun, Berlin, in an exhibition titled Land, Safety, and Grief (2023). In Cyprus, he had the opportunity to represent Morocco and Spain at the Larnaca Biennale in a show titled Home Away from Home (2023), curated by Yev Kravt. Subsequently, he was selected to participate in the Dakar Biennale The Wake (2024), curated by Salimata Diop alongside 58 artists, making it one of the most prominent international artistic events on the continent.
