To train a fart in the desert
For the past six months, Mark has been in Spain building experimental “trompetas” to play in the Tabernas desert. The work is inspired by the Euro-Westerns shot there in the 60s and the scores that Ennio Morricone wrote to accompany them. The resulting brass instrument is an unwieldy object, hard to control and unpredictable in the sounds that it makes.
For Fluchtpunkt/Vanishing Point 3, you are invited to play these “trompetas” with him. Together we will step back into the celluloid-scape of the Eurowestern by finding the harmonies of the “trompetas” in concert with Morricone’s “Dopo la Condanna”, from “The Big Gundown” (1966).

Man With A Movie Camera: Remixed
For this year's Fluchtpunkt/Vanishing Point opening event, Tangent Projects studio artist Tanya Zommer has collaborated with writer and DJ Kevin Maguire. Together they will present the timeless classic film Man with a Movie Camera by Dziga Vertov in the gallery space with a new soundtrack. By doing so, the artists aim to offer a unique and fresh take on one of the best films in cinema history.
Released in 1929, Man with a Movie Camera is renowned for Vertov's pioneering cinematic techniques, which continue to influence contemporary movie-making.

To train a fart in the desert (Entrenar un pedo en el desierto)
Durante los últimos seis meses, Mark ha estado en España construyendo “trompetas” experimentales para tocar en el desierto de Tabernas. La obra se inspira en las películas euro-western rodadas allí en los años 60 y en las partituras que Ennio Morricone escribió para acompañarlas. El instrumento de metal resultante es un objeto difícil de manejar, difícil de controlar e impredecible en torno a los sonidos que produce.
Para Fluchtpunkt/Vanishing Point 3, estás invitade a tocar estas “trompetas” con él. Juntes, retrocederemos al paisaje del celuloide del Eurowestern al encontrar las armonías de las “trompetas” en concierto con “Dopo la Condanna” de Morricone, de “The Big Gundown” (1966).

Man With A Movie Camera: Remixed (Hombre con una cámara: Remixed)
Para el evento de apertura de Fluchtpunkt/Vanishing Point de este año, la artista del estudio Tangent Projects, Tanya Zommer, ha colaborado con el escritor y DJ Kevin McGuire. Presentarán en la galería el clásico atemporal El hombre de la cámara de Dziga Vertov con una nueva banda sonora en vivo. Al hacerlo, los artistas pretenden ofrecer una visión única y fresca de una de las mejores películas de la historia del cine.
Estrenada en 1929, El hombre de la cámara de cine es famosa por las técnicas cinematográficas pioneras de Vertov, las cuales siguen influyendo en la realización cinematográfica contemporánea.
