Project 3

Tiny Library, La Escocesa and Tangent Projects.

Espai M -  March - May 2017

Tangent Projects were very pleased to work on a collaborative project with Tiny Library and La Escocesa. During the months of March, April and May Tiny Library was housed in Espai M, the gallery space in La Escocesa, whereby studio artists were involved in a free exchange of artist books and publications.

Tiny Library re-uses vintage cassette carrying cases to house portable miniature libraries of artists books and other small handmade works. The objective is to offer a free transaction between creatives, thus the libraries serve as a social, artistic and cultural exchange.

Based in the Poble Nou area of Barcelona, La Escocesa is a self-managed artistic production centre that focuses on the visual arts with the public in mind. It aims to offer resident creators and collectives a series of different spaces at affordable prices (work spaces, a multipurpose hall, material for production, promotion and international exchange) to foster their professional development and assist them in their artistic career.

Door to La Escocesa

The Tiny Library Number 02 was housed in the Espai M exhibition space in La Escocesa for approximately three months, beginning from March 7th 2017.

Espai M

We are always keen to work on projects that take us, and the artists we work with, in new artistic directions. Which is why collaborating with Tiny Library and the artists at La Escocesa was such an intriguing prospect for us. We are now in the process of incorporating it into Tangent Projects’ space and soon exchanges can begin again!
