Tiny Library at La Escocesa.
Espai M - 2017.
Tiny Library re-uses vintage cassette carrying cases to house portable miniature libraries of artists books and other small handmade works. The objective is to offer a free transaction between creatives, thus the libraries serve as a social, artistic and cultural exchange.
Based in the Poble Nou area of Barcelona, La Escocesa is a self-managed artistic production centre that focuses on the visual arts with the public in mind. It aims to offer resident creators and collectives a series of different spaces at affordable prices (work spaces, a multipurpose hall, material for production, promotion and international exchange) to foster their professional development and assist them in their artistic career.
The Tiny Library Number 02 will be housed in the Espai M exhibition space in La Escocesa for approximately two months, beginning from March 7th 2017. Instead of an opening night, we will be having a closing party in May - more news about that very soon!
We, at Tangent Projects, are always keen to work on projects that take us, and the artists we work with, in new artistic directions. Which is why collaborating with Tiny Library and the artists at La Escocesa is such an intriguing prospect for us, and we are excited to see how this project develops over the coming months.
