Catching Up With Lolo y Sosaku - Part 1. by Tsering Frykman-Glen

Since working with us on our first project - which was exhibited in Fundació Gaspar earlier this year - Lolo y Sosaku have had a very busy schedule. This is part 1 in a series of 3 short articles about where they have been and what they have been up to since our collaboration.

The very morning after the opening of GOLD they boarded a train bound for Besançon, France to begin working on a project with Bien Urbain.

Every year Bien Urbain and the Association Juste Ici invite artists to spend time creating public works that "intervene in the daily life" of the peoples of Besançon. Other artists this year included Martha Rosler, Henrik Franklin, Maider Lopez, Myr Muratet, Harmen de Hoop, Daniel Munoz San, Escif, Clement Richem, Wasted Rita, Olivier Toulemonde, Sam3, Timofey Radya, Cyop & Kaf and Fermin Jimenez Landa.

These beautiful photos and video will give you some idea of the work Lolo y Sosaku made during this project.

It's really nice to see how their works look in an outdoor setting. Great job Lolo y Sosaku!

You can see more of the projects they worked on here.

We will post part 2 soon, which will have details of their very exciting project in the Power Station of Art in Shanghai.

Tangent Projects, Project 1 - GOLD - Lolo y Sosaku. Install & Opening. by Tsering Frykman-Glen

We could not be happier with our first project - the artists, the works and the space, all fit together beautifully. As a site specific work and build on site, the Tangent Team got to enjoy witnessing the whole work come together - from concept sketch to end result art installation.

With this in mind, we thought it would be nice to share some pictures of the lead up, process and completion with you. Please keep in mind, these photos are just snaps we took during the process for our records, it is not professional documentation. This is just for interest and fun.

There is also a beautiful video that Lolo y Sosaku made at the bottom of this post, make sure you check it out!

Lolo y Sosaku Strike Again! by Tsering Frykman-Glen

We are very excited to inform you of another project that Lolo y Sosaku have been working on in Barcelona, which will culminate in a one off event at the latter part of this week.

After 8 months of shared sound-experimenting with students from the Institut Milà i Fontanels, the students and Lolo y Sosaku will present their instruments Friday 27th May at 7pm at the Convent Sant Agustí (Sala Noble).

It is open to the public and all are invited, but please remember it is for one night only. Come and join us! We can't wait to see, and hear, the conclusion of their sonic research!

This wonderful project has been organized by EN RESIDÈNCIA y la Associació A Bao A Qu .

For those who have not seen Lolo y Sosaku's current exhibition - curated by Tangent projects - GOLD at Fundacio Gaspar yet, we would like to remind that it’s on view until June, 19th.
